Its’ reflective properties add sparkle to the tails and wings of many types of flies. The hair-like fibers are soft and static free, making it easy to work with. Kreinik Flash is unaffected by saltwater or epoxy finishes, yet is flexible enough to be mixed with marabou, enhancing its action in the water. Kreinik’s Micro Ice Chenille is a light-reflecting, crystal-type chenille. It is one-half the size of regular ice chenille and can be used as a body wrap on small hooks. Micro Ice Chenille is not affected by saltwater or epoxy finishes. It is ideal for use in saltwater patterns such as shrimps or Crazy Charlies. In freshwater flies, Micro Ice Chenille has many applications, such as forming Woolly Bugger bodies and nymph thoraxes on stoneflies. Kreinik Cord (also known as Metallic Wrapping Thread), is a tightly twisted 1-ply gimp that does not separate or "grin" when used to build rods or tie flies. This fine Metallic Wrapping Thread is ideal for decorative or accent wrappings on rods because it is unaffected by rod varnish or epoxy. Its color is not affected, which eliminates the need for a color preservative. When using proper rod wrapping techniques, Kreinik Metallic Wrapping Thread wraps easily without distortion, twisting or overlapping. Unique color schemes can be created by alternating bands of different colors. In fly tying it is best used to wrap midge larvae bodies, as a ribbing, or to wrap bands of light reflecting colors. 1/8" Ribbon is 1/8" wide, but very thin metallic thread that can be used on flies size #8 - 2/0. 1/16" Ribbon is 1/16" wide, but very thin metallic thread that can be used on flies size #10 - #16. Very Fine (#4) Braid is used for flies size #18 - #24. Fine (#8) Braid is used for flies size #16 - #22. Medium (#16) Braid is used for flies size #10 - #14. Heavy (#32) Braid is the thickest braid.
