Kreinik Flash In A Tube™ is a fine-fiber synthetic material which exhibits a metallic-like gleam. Its’ reflective properties add sparkle to the tails and wings of many types of flies. The hair-like fibers are soft and static free, making it easy to work with. Kreinik Flash is unaffected by saltwater or epoxy finishes, yet is flexible enough to be mixed with marabou, enhancing its action in the water.

Kreinik Flash In A Tube™ has many uses. Add a few strands to the tails of woolly buggers, bass bugs, poppers, eels, and leech patterns. Mix some Flash with bucktail in streamers. Single strands can be used as ribbing on nymphs and wet flies. Possibly the most innovative use is in some of the popular dry fly patterns. The white glow-in-the-dark can be used as a substitute for calftail in a Royal Trude, or as the wing post in a Parachute Adams. It’s like having a built-in strike indicator. Each package includes a clear plastic tube, making Flash easy and convenient to store while keeping stray fibers from adding clutter to your tying bench. The tube enables you to store several colors in a small tray, or bundle the tubes together with a rubber band.

Kreinik’s Micro Ice Chenille is a light-reflecting, crystal-type chenille. It is one-half the size of regular ice chenille and can be used as a body wrap on small hooks. Micro Ice Chenille is not affected by saltwater or epoxy finishes. It is ideal for use in saltwater patterns such as shrimps or Crazy Charlies. In freshwater flies, Micro Ice Chenille has many applications, such as forming Woolly Bugger bodies and nymph thoraxes on stoneflies.

The Peacock color (affectionately known as peacock herl on steroids) is an excellent replacement for peacock herl. Use it wherever peacock herl is to be used as a body wrap, such as Zug Bugs, Prince nymphs, Renegades and Picket Pins. It is sturdy enough to be used in a single strand and does not have to be reinforced with ribbing.

Want to create more color options? Kreinik Micro Ice Chenille readily accepts dyes such as Rit®. All you need is a lukewarm water bath and some dye. Best results are achieved using Opal (MIC01) and Pale Yellow (MIC10).

Kreinik Silk Dubbing is natural 100% pure silk. The fibers of the silk dubbing are very fine and long. This fine fiber structure makes this silk dubbing ideal for the bodies of flies from size 16 to the very smallest (26-28).

Silk is hydrophobic, meaning it is naturally water resistant. It will float higher and longer than the various poly type dubbings because it has a lower specific gravity and it takes longer for water to wick through the fibers. Silk readily accepts acid type dyes and can also be colored with marking pens. The available colors will meet the needs of the majority of popular dry fly and nymph patterns, such as Adams, Blue-winged Olives, Drakes, Hare’s Ears, Hendricksons and Sulphurs.

Kreinik Blending Filament is an ideal thread to use for tying midges and other small flies. Use Kreinik Blending Filament to tie flies size #18-#28. Blending Filament is so thin that you can virtually make the hook look like it is painted.

Kreinik Cord (also known as Metallic Wrapping Thread), is a tightly twisted 1-ply gimp that does not separate or "grin" when used to build rods or tie flies. This fine Metallic Wrapping Thread is ideal for decorative or accent wrappings on rods because it is unaffected by rod varnish or epoxy. Its color is not affected, which eliminates the need for a color preservative. When using proper rod wrapping techniques, Kreinik Metallic Wrapping Thread wraps easily without distortion, twisting or overlapping. Unique color schemes can be created by alternating bands of different colors. In fly tying it is best used to wrap midge larvae bodies, as a ribbing, or to wrap bands of light reflecting colors.

1/8" Ribbon is 1/8" wide, but very thin metallic thread that can be used on flies size #8 - 2/0.

1/16" Ribbon is 1/16" wide, but very thin metallic thread that can be used on flies size #10 - #16.

Very Fine (#4) Braid is used for flies size #18 - #24.

Fine (#8) Braid is used for flies size #16 - #22.

Medium (#16) Braid is used for flies size #10 - #14.

Heavy (#32) Braid is the thickest braid.
